Notebook, ca. 1839-1840.

This volume contains drawings (in pencil and watercolor) of numerous fish, apparently sketched while on a cruise or expedition in the Caribbean in 1839. The fish are identified and descriptions usually accompany the sketch. There are also notes on fish seen at certain New York museums.
